PathMakers

Are you active in your community & want to be even better at what you do? Do you want to build your communication and leadership strengths?

UNPAC is a non-profit organization that educates and empowers women. We support women's skill building to increase their success in community and workplace leadership. We follow a popular education model that is interactive and participant centered.

We're excited about PathMakers: Women Strengthening Community

Pathmakers is designed for rural women who are active in community-building work and/or leaders in their communities or workplaces. Our goals are to enhance the existing skills women have through mentorship, skill-building and developing strategies to achieve particular goals. Women have the opportunity to broaden their skills in areas such as conflict management, community engagement, communication, group facilitation, change management, and other leadership skills.

We are hosting a retreat in Western Manitoba.

After hosting three successful Pathmakers groups in Altona, Pinawa, and Morden, (and a follow-up retreat) UNPAC is pleased to announce a leadership and personal development retreat for women living in Western Manitoba. This retreat will offer women in leadership opportunities to connect with one another and to develop practical skills for empowering participation in their communities. It will also offer time for self-care, creative expression, laughter, and community-building with other women.

The retreat will be held at Elkhorn
Resort Spa and Conference Centre
on May 24-26, 2013.

While much of the content of the retreat will be provided by UNPAC, we will also be looking for contributions from participants. Our purpose is to engage and empower local women, and we know that many skills already exist and are ready to be shared among you. Workshops presented by participants may involve creative skills (art-making, storytelling, music-making, etc.), self-care and movement (yoga, dance, etc.), and/or leadership and personal development skills. We also invite participants to bring other offerings that women may benefit from outside of the workshops (eg. healing touch, coaching, etc.). Please indicate on the registration form what you are interested in contributing.

The cost of the retreat is covered (with funding from Status of Women Canada), but there is a $25 nonrefundable administration fee. Once you have completed the registration form, please send $25 to UNPAC, Woodsworth House, 60 Maryland St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 1K7

Registration deadline: May 17, 2013

Space is limited, so register early. The retreat will begin with supper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24th, and end at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26th.

If childcare is a concern for you, contact the office to see what arrangements can be made to support your attendance.

NOTE: The retreat is now FULL. If you wish to be put on the waiting list, fill out the registration form and we will notify you if space opens up.
